Malang ( Siaptv.com ) – Malang City Police Chief Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto said, of the seven suspects, five suspects were charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code or Article 170 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code and two suspects were charged with Article 160 of the Criminal Code or Article 14 of the 1946 Republic of Indonesia Law concerning criminal law regulations.

“They each have a role to play in unlawful acts,” said Kombes Budi during a press conference at the Attorney General Suprapto Police Headquarters, Tuesday (31/1/23).

The five suspects in question are the initials AR (24), MF (24), NV (21), HC (29) and KA (22). Meanwhile, the two suspects charged with Article 160 of the Criminal Code on Public Incitement to Commit a Crime are FK (37), a resident of Dampit, Malang Regency and FH alias Ambon Fanda (34), a resident of Pujon, Malang Regency.

Kombes Budi Hermanto added, after the incident at the Arema FC office, the police arrested 115 people. Of which 107 people were at the scene of the alleged demonstration.

“However, after an in-depth study, 94 people were not involved and were returned to their families,” said Kombes Budi.

Meanwhile, 13 other people are still being investigated, because they are at the location and are suspected of taking part in the action.

“But for the role, whether to destroy or throw things is still being investigated and so far there is not enough evidence to be used as a witness,” said Kombes Budi.

Apart from the 107 people who were arrested, there were 8 other people who were also arrested. Of that number, 7 people have been named as suspects and 1 other has the status of a witness.

“The evidence we have secured includes identical flags of the Anarcho group, stones, cans of spray paint, brown handkerchiefs with blood stains, three pieces of smoke bomb fragments, posters and other items,” concluded Kombes Budi.

To note, after being named as suspects, the 7 people were immediately detained at the Malang City Police Headquarters for further legal proceedings.

During the press conference, the Malang City Police Chief emphasized that the arrest of seven suspects in the vandalism and beating at the Arema FC office had nothing to do with the Kanjuruhan incident. “This is purely a criminal case against the destruction of Arema’s office and has nothing to do with the Kanjuruhan incident,” concluded the Chief of Police.
